The Aurora Police Department is conducting a homicide investigation after a man was shot and killed on the city’s east side early Saturday morning.

Just after 3 a.m. on Saturday, officers responded to a report of a man down in the 400 block of Clark Street. Upon arrival, they found the male suffering from a gunshot wound. The man was transported to Rush Copley Medical Center, where he was pronounced deceased after 9 a.m.

Detectives from the Aurora Police Department’s Bureau of Investigations and Evidence Technicians responded to the scene, and a canvass of the neighborhood was conducted to collect potential information from neighbors to assist with the investigation.

Detectives are still investigating the circumstances of the shooting. If anyone has information about the shooting or details surrounding the incident, please call the Aurora Police Department’s Investigations Division at (630) 256-5500. You can also call the Aurora Area Crime Stoppers at (630) 892-1000 to report information regarding the incident anonymously.
