A 49 year-old Carpentersville died Sunday morning after crashing his vehicle into a tree in unincorporated Hampshire.

At approximately 4:30 AM, Kane County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to the report of a single vehicle accident in the 44W300 block of US HWY 20, unincorporated Hampshire. Upon arrival, deputies found a Honda Ridgeline against a tree with a deceased male occupant inside.

Upon further investigation, it was determined that the vehicle was traveling west on US HWY 20 when it crossed the center line and left the roadway to the south, striking a tree.

The deceased driver was identified as Adrian Guzman-Vargas, 49 years old, of Carpentersville.

Alcohol may have been a factor in the crash, however the incident remains under investigation.
