The Elgin Police Department reported another gunfire incident yesterday, the third such incident in three days. (See here and here for the prior days’ incidents.)
This is the 58th gunfire incident in Elgin this year. The record, set in 2016, is 64.
In Thursday’s incident, officers responded to a call at 7:04pm reporting shots fired in the 300 block of Watres Place, just east of Rt. 25 and north of Villa Avenue.
No evidence of injuries was identified, but police indicated in a press release that damage to property was evident.
