    Elgin Police Respond To Report Of Gunfire Overnight

    Elgin police responded to another incident of gunfire last night.

    On Thursday evening, at approximately 8:51 p.m., officers responded to the 300 block of south Belmont St. for a report of shots fired.

    Upon arrival evidence of a shooting and property damage was located. No injuries have been reported at this time.

    This is the 46th gunfire incident in Elgin this year, and this sixth this month. The record for shots fired incidents in Elgin is 64, set in 2016.
