According to the Elgin Police Department, police responded to a shots fired incident at approximately 11:16 pm Tuesday night.
This marks the 31st shooting in Elgin so far this year, keeping the city on pace to break its record of 64 shootings in 2016.
Elgin police were called to the 100 block of Highbury Drive to investigate a report of shots fired. Upon arrival, evidence of a shooting and property damage were located. No injuries have been reported at this time.
