State Representative Dan Ugaste (R-Geneva) is hosting an upcoming blood drive in partnership with Versiti Blood Centers. The event will be held on Saturday, May 1st, at the St. Charles Park District Pottawatomie Community Center (8 North Avenue) from 9:00am—1:00pm in the multi-purpose room.

The blood drive will account for all necessary safety precautions to keep both volunteers and blood donors safe—which is why appointments are strongly encouraged. An appointment can be made online at https://donate.illinois.versiti.org/donor/schedules/drive_schedule/5591821. As space and time permits, walk-ins will also be accepted. Blood donors can also opt to receive free COVID Antibody Testing. For all donors a face mask and a photo-ID will be required.

According to Versiti, each donation can impact three lives. Representative Ugaste encourages any and all residents to reserve their spot today if they are able to donate blood. “I’ve see great participation in our community with residents coming out to donate blood, which is something that doesn’t take long to do but goes a long way in terms of helping someone in need—and can even help save a life,” said Rep. Ugaste.

Spots are limited for blood donation, so interested residents should make an appointment as soon as possible. With questions, interested residents can contact the Representative’s office at 630-797-5530.
