A Barrington man was killed Sunday afternoon in a three-car collision in Campton Hills.
Alexander Pendzinski was pronounced dead at the scene by Campton Hills police. He was 29 years of age.
Julie Sobieski, a second driver, was found injured in the crash and was airflifted to Good Samaritan Hospital in Downers Grove, where she is being treated for unidentified injuries.
An unidentified third driver was uninjured.
The crash happened Sunday, shortly before 12:40 pm on Route 38, apparently due to an attempt by Pendzinski to pass the third driver which resulted in a collision with Sobieski.
