Polynesian culture is beautiful, complex and storied. They’re well known for mastery of shipbuilding and navigation, but their mastery extends beyond the sea, it permeates social organization, religion, and allocation of food.
Polynesians had social mechanisms in place to deal with shipwrecks, and families separated at sea. In honor of Polynesian courage and character, I’d like to say, fa’afetai!
