Organizing to sell…does that sound like a “four letter word”? Headaches and aching muscles come to mind when most of us think of moving.
Two weeks ago, I received a call from a busy mom. She was so full of excitement when she called that I thought confetti was going to burst from the phone! She quickly explained that her husband had gotten his dream job on the West Coast! They were “over the moon,” until they looked around their home of 20 years and saw all of the “stacks of stuff” that no longer served them.
The piles of items needed to be organized, gone through, packed and donated. Her realtor told her that she had to meet Ann Marie Guenther, owner of That Girl Organizes.
The couple had already gone through many life changes and now this! Suzy had just retired from a career of 20 years, and her husband has traveled five days a week for years. Their home needed to be ready for pictures in two weeks. This project was so large that there was no way one person could accomplish it on their own. Furthermore, Suzy mentioned, organizing wasn’t her thing. The house needed to sell A.S.A.P.! She wanted it decluttered, organized and packed in the next ten days.
My team was there the next week and “knocked out” this project for Suzy! She and Hal could “move on” out West and begin their new life.
The last five clients’ homes that we pre-packed and organized, sold in record time! Their realtors attributed the quick sales to the way That Girl Organizes prepares a house to sell.
My greatest claim to fame happened just over a year ago. The client, Kathy, called excited and frazzled. She said that her husband finally got his job transfer order, so she could move near a Health Clinic that could help her. Kathy was in her 30’s and was bedridden most days with three children and a live-in caretaker.
Kathy saw hope by being able to move closer to where she could participate in a new medical trial. Tom, her husband, got a transfer order on a Friday in July. My team of seven hardworking professionals organized her home from top to bottom, accomplishing 40 hours of work in one day!
Our team helped Kathy get rid of all broken, unused toys, stuffed little “friends,” and outgrown clothes. We packed up everything that was out of season and donated the rest. All the winter gear, that would never be useful again, was given to a local homeless shelter to bless another family in need.
Real Simple magazine is what this home resembled once we were done! It was gorgeous! I gave Kathy the number of one of my favorite realtors, and she was ready to roll! House pictures were taken the following day, and showings began the next week. In two weeks, her house was on the market and ready to sell!
Moving can be stressful, but with the right help and a positive outlook, it can all be done efficiently, effectively and without frustration! Just one simple call to That Girl Organizes can get you on your way! Call 630.673.3637
