At the base of the Riverwalk’s Rotary Hill stands the majestic Millennium Carillon in Moser Tower, a unique, 16-story structure with a 72- bell musical instrument. Millennium Carillon is located at 443 Aurora Ave., Naperville IL 60540.
Naperville City Carillonneur Tim Sleep will perform a tribute concert on Saturday July 13th at 7:00 pm, to raise awareness for Pancreatic Cancer. More than 30 songs (or a recognizable snippet) will be performed during a 30-minute performance.Dan Sleep, brother of Tim Sleep, sadly passed away from pancreatic cancer a couple years ago.
Tim will be honoring artists and actors who have died from pancreatic cancer. Notably the music of Aretha Franklin will be reprised. Some of the artists/actors that also will be remembered are Luciano Pavorotti, Henry Mancini, Steve Jobs, Dizzy Gillespie, Roger Williams, Alan Rickman, George Halas, Jack Benny and others.
Sunday, July 14th is the 9th annual Naperville Pancreatic Cancer Research Walk. Registration starts at 8:30 am at the Naperville Grand Pavilion. It is a 1.5 mile or 5k route. This family and pet friendly event is fun for kids of all ages. Every $ raised will go to pancreatic cancer research through the LustgartenFoundation.
