The Elgin Symphony Orchestra (ESO), led by resident conductor Stephen Squires, will be featured in the Chicago Ballet Conservatory (CBC) production of The Nutcracker, by Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky, on December 1, 7:00 pm and December 2, 2:00 pm, Hemmens Cultural Center. Directed by Linda Cunningham, the CBC’s captivating version of this beloved holiday classic contains all the traditional elements of the work embellished with delightful surprises, and music performed by the critically-acclaimed Elgin Symphony Orchestra. Professional guest artists include Alexandre Hammoudi, a soloist with the American Ballet Theatre (ABT); Abigail Simon, formerly with ABT and the Joffrey Ballet; Roger Hendricks Simon, veteran actor and director of stage and screen, and Raoni Xavier of Bolshoi Brazil.
