Early Voting at Gail Borden Public Library Starts Monday

Kane County voters will be able to participate in early voting at Gail Borden Library’s main facility from October 19 to November 2. Early voting hours at the library are scheduled for 8:30 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through Friday and 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and Sunday during the early voting period. Kane County residents from any precinct will be able to vote early at the library, located at 270 N. Grove Ave., Elgin.

On Election Day, Tuesday, November 3, polls at the Main Library will be open for residents from select Kane County precincts only. Election Day hours at the library will be from 6 a.m. to 7 p.m. For more information about voting, visit gailborden.info/vote.

Renew Your License Plate at the Library 

Gail Borden Library now offers Illinois License Plate renewal service. Illinois residents can renew and receive their license plate stickers at the Main Library, 270 N. Grove Ave., Elgin. To renew, bring in your Illinois Vehicle Registration Renewal Notice or Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) and license plate number.

License plate renewal can be done 9 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. Monday through Thursday, 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Friday and Saturday, and noon to 3:30 p.m. Sunday. For more information, visit gailborden.info/services/license-plate-renewal-services.

Gail Borden Public Library has a new app for checking out and renewing items using a mobile device. Popular features such as digital library cards, searching the library catalog and placing holds are still available. Offered in English and Spanish, the app can be downloaded from the Apple or Google Play store.
