Celebrate Halloween with Free Events at the Naperville Park District

Scare-illon Concert on Oct. 26 and Halloween Happening on Oct. 27

Who: Naperville Park District invites the community to attend the Scare-illon Concert, featuring City Carillonneur Tim Sleep and Naperville Park District’s Élan Dance Company. Children ages 10 and under and their families are encouraged to enjoy Halloween Happening, presented by Woody Buick GMC. Other sponsors include: Texas Roadhouse, Rocket Ice, DuPage Medical Group, Aurelio’s Pizza, Living Well Dental, Shotokan Karate, Rose Pest Solutions, Mathnasium, Coldwell Banker, College Nannies and Tutors, Naperville Yard, Chuy’s, Main Event, Naperville Bank and Trust, FBC Remodel, Dave & Busters, and Kona Ice. Friendly student volunteers will help run games and hand out treats.

What: The Scare-illon Concert features spooky and atmospheric music, including both classical and popular tunes evoking seasonal themes. Élan Dance Company will perform several seasonal pieces, alternating with Carillon music. Naperville Park District will hand out glow sticks for as long as the supply lasts. Halloween Happening provides an afternoon of fun, including Halloween-themed games and activity stations where children can collect treats and win prizes. A variety of inflatables add to the fun and a lineup of children’s entertainment is planned. Kids are welcome to wear their favorite costumes to the event.

When: The Scare-illon Concert takes place on Saturday, October 26 from 7:00-8:00 p.m. Halloween Happening runs from 1:00-4:00 p.m. on Sunday, October 27. The Halloween Happening entertainment schedule is as follows:
• Élan Dance Company at 1:00 p.m.
• Jeannie B at 2:00 p.m.
• Gary Kantor at 3:00 p.m.
There is no rain date for either event; in case of inclement weather, check the Park District’s weather cancellations tab for updates at https://www.napervilleparks.org/cancellations.

A special note: The Naperville Park District will host a brief ribbon-cutting ceremony to open the newly renovated Jaycee Playground, just east of the location of Halloween Happening, at 12:45 p.m. immediately prior to the event. Those planning to attend Halloween Happening are welcome to stop by the Jaycee Playground, located at 912 Sindt Court, on their way to the event, or take time on the way home to explore the new playground equipment.

Where: The Scare-illon Concert will be performed at the Naperville Millennium Carillon in Moser Tower and at the base of the tower at Rotary Hill, located at 443 Aurora Avenue. Halloween Happening takes place at the Riverwalk Grand Pavilion, located at 912 Sindt Court, west of Centennial Beach. Parking is available along Sindt Court or at the Centennial Beach parking lot.
