A 36-year-old man was struck and killed in West Chicago Monday by a man police allege was driving under the influence of alcohol. DuPage County State’s Attorney Robert Berlin and West Chicago Chief of Police Colin Fleury announced Tuesday that Judge Joshua Dieden denied the State’s motion to detain pre-trial a West Chicago man charged with two counts of Aggravated DUI Causing Death, a Class 2 Felony. A 22-year-old Naperville man is in hospital with non-life-threatening gunshot wounds sustained in a shooting Tuesday in residential Naperville. According the Naperville police, at approximately 1:30pm officers were dispatched to a residence in the 2500 block of Leach Drive for the report of a gunshot victim. Police and Fire personnel arrived on scene and located a victim suffering from an apparent gunshot wound. The victim was transported to a local hospital with what is believed to be non-life threatening injuries. After the shooting, the offenders reportedly fled on foot in an unknown direction. Firefighters with the Geneva Fire Department rescued a woman Monday who had jumped into the Fox River near the downtown Geneva dam. Firefighters were dispatched at 11:52am Monday morning for a river rescue. While en route, Geneva firefighters and police officers were notified by Tri-Com Central Dispatch that a bystander had witnessed the victim jump in the Fox River near the western edge of the dam. Three fire department rescue boats and one dive team were deployed to the river and began a downstream search for the woman. Police officers saw the woman floating down the river near the Union…

A man has killed himself after allegedly shooting and seriously injuring his 43-year-old girfriend in Aurora yesterday morning. At approximately 7:31am Monday morning, Aurora police officers were dispatched to the 700 block of Charles Street for a disturbance inside a residence. While officers responded to the scene, a 911 caller reported a male inside the residence was armed with a gun. As officers arrived on scene, they heard a gunshot from within the residence.
