The Elgin Farmers Market is open today from 3-7pm along Spring St, between E Chicago St, and Fulton Street. The market is a rain or shine event that continues until Mid-October.
Presented by AMITA Health, the Elgin Farmers Market strives to increase the public’s accessibility to fresh local foods, unique artwork, and collaborative programming with local artists and community partners. Individuals under the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (Illinois’ SNAP program, formerly known as “food stamps”) are eligible to receive an additional $20 at the market when they use their Illinois EBT LINK card thanks to the Link Match Program. The program is sponsored by the Elgin branch of BMO Harris Bank, and is made possible by LINK UP Illinois.
Many of last year’s vendors will be returning and will continue to offer fresh products, including: fruits, vegetables, fresh eggs, fish, and meat, honey, nuts, olives and more. Other items and services will also be available, including handmade artisan goods, CBD products, knife sharpening, topiaries, as well as body care items.
Free parking is available throughout Downtown Elgin, within nearby parking garages along E Chicago St, Fulton Street and near Festival Park along S Grove Ave. The public should be aware that through-traffic along Spring St from Chicago St to Fulton Ave is closed during market hours, starting at 1:00pm and will reopen at 8:00pm.
New vendors we welcome to participate in the market. Contact the Downtown Neighborhood Association of Elgin office at 847-488-1456 or visit downtownelgin.com/farmersmarket to obtain a copy of the guidelines and register for the market.
