Robbing A Cop Car? AR-15 Stolen from Kane County Sheriff’s Deputy Parked Squad Car

In the early morning hours on Tuesday, a rather brazen burglary took place.

According the Kane County Sheriff’s Office, an AR-15 rifle was stolen from a deputy’s squad car while parked outside his residence in Aurora.

According to the KCSO, the Kane County Sheriff’s Office Investigation Division is actively developing and pursuing leads as to possible suspects in the burglary. At this time, investigators believe this was an isolated incident.

Additionally, the Kane County Sheriff’s Office of Professional Standards is undertaking an internal review to assess whether KCSO policies and procedures were followed.

As this remains an active investigation, anyone having information regarding the incident is asked to called the KCSO Investigations Division at (630) 444-1103.
