After suffering a destructive fire in July, one of Geneva’s staple restaurants, Stockholm’s, is re-opening today at 11am.
In a Facebook post with the title “We’re Back!”, the restaurant announced the “soft” re-opening while indicating that the formal Grand Re-Opening will be Wednesday, October 16, at 11am.
“Please bear in mind that this is our soft opening era. We still have kinks to work out and i’s to cross and t’s to dot [sic] (suppliers to deliver and time to prep).
“We’re so very excited to welcome you back, but we need to relearn how to restaurant properly. We humbly ask for your grace and your patience in these early days.”

On July 31 at about 9pm, Stockholm’s staff was informed by a nearby restaurant that smoke was billowing from it exhaust hood on top of the building. The Geneva Fire Department was called in and, with the assistance of other local departments, the fire was contained.
The damage from the fire was characterized by the restaurant as “extensive,” although no injuries were reported.
Subsquently, local businesses and fellow restauranteurs showed support for the iconic brewpub by fundraising events and a GofundMe page to keep employees paid during the reconstruction.
