A 65-year-old Naperville man is hospitalized in serious condition after the bicycle he was riding was hit by a vehicle on Route 59 in Aurora Saturday afternoon.
At approximately 4:41pm, Aurora police arrived at the scene of the incident, the northbound lanes of Route 59 north of Liberty Street, and learned the vehicle involved had fled the scene northbound on Route 59 after the crash. The bicyclist, a 65-year-old Naperville man, was transported to a local hospital by Aurora Fire Department paramedics and was listed in serious condition.
Police are seeking assistance in identifying the vehicle, shown below. The vehicle is believed to be a to a black Volkswagon Beetle, which may have damage on the passenger side.
