A 19-year-old Lake in the Hills man has been arrested and charged with Driving Under The Influence and Reckless Homicide in connection with a fatal rollover crash at the exit of I-90 and Route 47 in Huntley, Illinois State Police announced today.
On September 3, 2022, at approximately 1:54 a.m., ISP District 15 Troopers responded to investigate a single vehicle rollover traffic crash on the Interstate 90 westbound exit to Illinois Route 47, in Huntley. The suspect, who was driving the vehicle, was transported to a local area hospital with serious injuries.
An male-adult passenger was ejected from the vehicle and succumbed to his injuries sustained from the crash.
On November 22, 2022, ISP District 15 Investigators appeared before a Kane County Grand Jury who approved a seven-count indictment, which included five counts of Aggravated Driving Under the Influence (Class 2 Felony), Reckless Homicide (Class 3 Felony), and Aggravated Speeding 35+ MPH Over the Limit (Class A Midemeanor).
The suspect turned himself in to ISP District Investigators at the Lake in the Hills Police Department on Wednesday. He was transported to the Kane County Jail where he is being held on a $150,000 bond, 10% to apply.
