CityGate campus restaurants – CityGate Grille, Che Figata, Tap In Pub, Lavazza and Zorba Cocktail Bar – located at Rte. 59 & Ferry Rd. in Naperville will donate 30 percent of proceeds from all food and beverage sales Tuesday, March 15, to support the #ChefsForUkraine campaign launched by World Central Kitchen (WCK), the front-line food provider founded by humanitarian and Michelin Star Chef José Andrés.
WCK brings volunteer chefs and food to the front lines, providing meals in response to humanitarian, climate and community crises. WCK personnel and volunteers have been on site and serving hot, nourishing meals within hours of the initial invasion of the Ukraine by Russia on Feb. 24. With meal stations set at eight border crossings across the country, and at local restaurants in Odessa and Lviv, WCK is serving thousands of fresh meals to Ukrainian families fleeing their homes as well as those who remain in the country.
“Every day, our restaurants reflect our commitment to our community and my love of sharing food and friendship with our neighbors,” said CityGate Hospitality SVP and Chief Operating Officer Mae Calamos. “When our team asked to find a way to support the people of Ukraine, we decided to place our effort behind World Central Kitchen as it aligns with our businesses and philosophy.
“It means a great deal to me that Chef Andrés’s mission is to use the power of food to nourish not just the body but also the soul.” To contribute to this campaign through CityGate Hospitality, community members can dine at participating locations – CityGate Grille, Che Figata, Tap In Pub, Lavazza and Zorba Cocktail Bar – or order online from CityGate Grille, Che Figata, Tap In Pub and Lavazza websites – on Tuesday, March 15, when a portion of their purchase amount will be donated by CityGate Hospitality.
