A Milwaukee man was charged with attempted murder and other charges resulting from a shooting at a New Year’s Eve party in Aurora.
Kane County prosecutors allege that early Jan. 1, 2022, the 23 year-old suspect, who was attending a party in the 800 block of Huntington Drive, Aurora, fired multiple shots from a handgun at three victims, striking one victim in the arm.
Kane County State’s Attorney Jamie Mosser has charged the man with the offenses of:
- Attempt first-degree murder, Class X felony
- Aggravated battery with a firearm, Class X felony
- Aggravated discharge of a firearm, Class X felony, 3 counts
The suspect appeared Jan. 4, 2022, in Kane County bond court. Kane County Judge Julia Yetter set bail at $1 million, with 10 percent ($100,000) to apply for bond. His next court appearance for 9 a.m. Jan. 19, 2022, in Courtroom 211 at the Kane County Judicial Center.
