    One Dead, Two In Critical Condition After Violent Traffic Accident In St. Charles

    A Dekalb woman is dead and two others in critical condition after a violent traffic accident on Lincoln Highway near Peck Road in St. Charles Friday morning.

    At approximately 9:25am, the St. Charles Police and Fire Departments were dispatched to the 4400 block of Lincoln Highway for an accident with injuries where they a 2015 black GMC with heavy front-end damage in the roadway, and a 2024 white Kia lying overturned on the side of the road. A 50-year-old female from Dekalb had been ejected from the overturned Kia and her 49-year-old male passenger needed to be extricated from the vehicle.

    The 50-year-old female was later pronounced deceased, and the 49-year-old passenger is currently in critical condition.

    The occupants of the GMC, a 30-year-old female from Maple Park and a 30-year-old male and an infant, were all transported to Northwestern Medicine Delnor for treatment of their injuries. The female is currently in critical condition, while her other passengers are reported to be without serious injury.
