St. Charles police are seeking a suspect in the armed robbery of a convenience store Sunday evening.

At approximately 8:00pm Sunday, officers responded to the St. Charles Mini Mart located at 710 South 3rd Street for the report of an armed robbery which had just occurred.

Employees reported that a person had entered the business, engaged them at the counter and begun to make a purchase. While an employee began to ring up the sale, the person produced a handgun and demanded money from the register. An undisclosed amount of money was put in the person’s backpack and the person then left the store.

The person was last seen on foot heading north or northwest from the store. No one was injured during the incident. The Kane County Sheriff’s Office assisted with a K-9 track from the scene but no offender was located.

The offender was described as a black female wearing all black including a black facemask and black backpack.

Anyone with information about this crime is asked to contact the St. Charles Police Department at (630)377-4435. Information can also be left anonymously by contacting the Drug & Crime Tip Line at: (866)378-4267, or on-line at: St. Charles Police – Drug & Crime Tip Line.
