An Elgin man was hospitalized with non-life-threatening injuries after a shooting incident on Elgin’s far west side early Sunday morning.
At approximatly 3:40am on Sunday, Elgin police officers investigated a reported shooting incident in the 1200 block of Shawford Way in Elgin. Officers arrived on scene and located an adult male subject with a non-life threatening gunshot wound, who was subsequently transported to a local hospital.
A preliminary investigation shows that an incident inside a residence occurred at which time a firearm was discharged. This is an isolated incident where all parties involved are known to each other.
Detectives from the Major Investigations Division are actively investigating the incident.
