Elgin police are investigating a fatal stabbing on Elgin’s north side early this afternoon.
The incident took place just after noon in the 1000 block of Cedar Avenue in Elgin, where Elgin police located an adult male with life-threatening injuries after receiving reports of a stabbing.
The victim was subsequently transported to an area hospital and later pronounced deceased.
Detectives from the Major Investigations Division are actively investigating the case and have a person of interest in custody. Based on the preliminary investigation, it is believed at this time there is no threat to the public.
