Batavia’s House of 423 and Urban Style Salon are partnering for the second time for a spring fashion show hosted by Sturdy Shelter Brewing at 10 Shumway Ave., Batavia, on Sunday, April 30. Doors open at 10:30 a.m., with the show beginning at 11 a.m. Tickets are $25, which includes the show and one drink. Fernando’s Street Kitchen will have breakfast tacos for purchase to enjoy during the show.
Sarah Whitt, owner + curator of House of 423 is celebrating her 2-year anniversary and will be launching her private label clothing and jewelry line. The House of 423 clothing line includes cashmere, washable silk and organic cotton tops and the jewelry line includes gold filled earrings and necklaces.
Since opening in 2021, House of 423 has not only grown into a larger storefront space but has won numerous awards. These include 2021 Business Rookie of the Year from Batavia MainStreet; named finest women’s boutique in Kane County’s Finest; as well as earning a prestigious entrepreneurial scholarship from the Batavia Chamber of Commerce facilitated by the Fox Valley Entrepreneurship Center.
Urban Style Salon will be preparing models with spring trending hair and make-up. The husband-and-wife duo Gabe and Alex Sosa opened their salon in 2017 and focus on organic hair products including IN Beauty and Nuema and make-up from Five Petals. They’ve recently expanded their service offering with the addition of an esthetician, using products from Dermalogica.
