Registration is now open for the City of Elgin’s Fourth of July Parade. Participants can register and view parade guidelines at cityofelgin.org/july4. Registration closes on June 12.
The City of Elgin’s Fourth of July Parade steps off Tuesday, July 4 at 9:00 a.m. at the intersection of Douglas and Slade Avenues and continues to its conclusion at the intersection of Douglas and Highland Avenues, near City Hall.
This year’s theme is ‘90s Throwback,’ celebrating all things 90s. Parade participants are encouraged to decorate their vehicles and dress in character.
“Our community always comes out to participate and enjoy this event. While there will not be float judging this year, there will certainly be some great entertainment,” said Alexandria Radovics, special event coordinator. The Jesse White Tumblers return as crowd favorites along with new performers such as the South Shore Drill Team. “We expect about 10,000 people this year, and we wanted to really up the ante with entertainment.”
