It went down almost exactly as the commercials envision it.
On Wednesday evening at approximately 5:14 p.m., the owner of a home in the 1100 block of Shamrock Court in southeast Naperville began receiving alarm activations and footage from his alarm system. (He was not at home.)
Immediately, multiple Naperville Police Officers responded to the scene. One of the responding officers observed that a glass door at the rear of the residence had been shattered, indicating someone had entered. Officers established a perimeter around the home and called for additional resources. Officers announced their presence and intention to come in and search the premises, which prompted a male subject to exit the premises without incident.
The suspect, a 43-year-old man from Carbondale, IL, is charged with Residential Burglary, a class 1 felony, and Criminal Damage to Property, a class 4 felony.
