According to an investigation by the and County State’s Attorney’s Office and the Kane County Sheriff’s Office, a 44-year-old Carpentersville man was found in possession of, and disseminated, multiple child pornography videos prior to February 3, 2023.
The subject, who resides in the 3100 block of Wakefield Drive in Carpentersville, has been charged with the offenses of:
- Disseminating child pornography/moving depictions – Class X felony, 10 counts
- Possession of child pornography/moving depictions – Class 2 felony, 10 counts
The case was investigated and charged as a result of a collaboration between the Kane County State’s Attorney’s Office and the Kane County Sheriff’s Office. This collaboration comprises dedicated investigators from the State’s Attorney’s Office and Sheriff’s Office, along with assistant state’s attorneys with specialized knowledge in the investigation and prosecution of child pornography cases.
Additionally, the Illinois Attorney General’s Office and the Internet Crimes Against Children’s Task Force assisted with the investigation.
Judge Julia Yetter set the subject’s bail at $100,000, with 10 percent ($10,000) to apply for bond. If bond is posted, he is to have no unsupervised contact with anyone younger than 17, he is not to access file sharing websites, social media websites, or websites characterized as pornographic.
His next court appearance is scheduled for March 1, 2023 at 9 a.m. in Courtroom 305 at the Kane County Judicial Center. He remains in custody at the Kane County jail.
