Two men were hospitalized after a shooting Friday afternoon on Elgin’s east side.
According to a police report, at 4:10 p.m., officers responded to the 400 block of Illinois Avenue for a reported shooting. Officers arrived on scene and located two subjects with injuries who were subsequently transported to an area hospital.
Preliminary information received is that this incident appears to be isolated with no threat to the community.
Detectives from the Special Investigations Division are actively investigating the case and updates will be provided as they become available.
