A Leyden High School student suddenly collapsed and died during an event at Naperville North High School Friday evening.
The student, Daniel Moshi of Franklin Park, was 17 years old.
The cause of death has not been disclosed.
According to the Naperville Fire Department, officers responded to the high school around 6:18 p.m. for an “unconscious” 17-year-old boy. The teen, Moshi, was taken to Edwards Medical Center where he was pronounced deceased.
Moshi was at Naperville North performing in an honors concert for the Illinois American Choral Directors Association
Laura Coster, President of the Illinois American Choral Directors Association, expressed her condolences in a post on Facebook: “IL-ACDA is saddened by the loss of this beautiful person who loved to sing. Our condolences to his family, the students, the directors, and to Stacy Cunningham and her students in the Leyden district.”
