A man who is suspected of shooting at two people in Maple Park, and who subsequently barricaded himself in a house, surrendered to police without incident early this morning.

At approximately 4:30am this morning, Kane County Sheriff’s Deputies were dispatched to the area of Old State Road and McGough Road, Maple Park, in Unincorporated Virgil Township for a report of shots fired. A suspect had shot at two subjects and then fled the scene.   The suspect, an unidentified male, fled to a residence on Crawford Road.  Due to the circumstances and confirmation that the subject was armed, a search warrant was obtained.

Sheriff Deputies, assisted by the Campton Hills Police, Maple Park Police and the Kane County Office of Emergency Management, made multiple attempts to make contact with the suspect at the residence.

The male suspect eventually exited the residence and was taken into custody without incident.  No injuries are reported at this time.

The investigation of this incident is continuing. If anyone has any information about the incident, please contact Kane County Investigations Division 630-444-1103.
