Two Aurora men have been arrested and charged after a man suffered a gunshot wound to his arm. Authorities believe the incident was related to drug activity.
Just after 09:54pm on Sunday, a victim suffering a single gunshot wound to their left arm was found in the 300 Block of West Downer Place.
After the preliminary investigation, detectives identified and arrested two male suspects, aged 42 and 44, respectively, both from Aurora. Further investigation indicated the two were involved in drug-related activity during which the victim got shot.
The victim is in stable condition.
The Kane County State’s Attorney’s Office authorized the following felony charges against the 42-year-old accused:
• 1 count of Attempted Murder
• 1 count of Aggravated battery with a firearm
• 3 counts of Armed Violence
• 2 counts of Aggravated Unlawful Use of a Weapon (No FOID / No CCL)
• 1 count of Unlawful Possession of a Controlled Substance with intent to deliver
The 44-year-old accused was charged with:
• 1 count of Unlawful Possession of a Controlled Substance
