The Kane County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a two-vehicle traffic crash with injuries that occurred on United States Highway 30, in unincorporated Big Rock Township Monday. The crash occurred at approximately 4:00pm.
According to the KCSO, initial indications are that a Ford sedan traveling east on Highway 30 crossed over the center lines for an unknown reason and then entered back into the east bound lane of traffic. A Nissan SUV traveling west on Highway 30, attempted to avoid the Ford as it entered the west lane of traffic and drove into the east bound lane where the Ford struck the Nissan.
The driver and sole occupant of the Ford was air lifted to a Chicagoland hospital with serious injuries.

Sheriff’s Detectives, and members of the Kane County Drone Team are continuing the investigation into this crash. It is unknown if drugs or alcohol played a role in this crash, and no citations have been issued.
