Two men, one believed to be armed, carjacked a pick-up truck in Bartlett in the early evening yesterday, leading to a massive manhunt involving multiple law enforcement agencies.
According to police, at approximately 5:00 p.m., a male black suspect and a male white suspect, both in their mid-20s, approached a victim who was sitting inside a 2000 Dodge Ram work vehicle in the 200 block of Miles Parkway and threatened him with what was believed to be a firearm.
The male black suspect then stole the vehicle and fled the scene. The male white suspect fled on foot and was last seen heading northbound from the scene.
Bartlett police officers conducted an extensive search of the area with multiple law enforcement agencies, police drones, and police K-9 units, but were unable to locate the male suspect who fled on foot. The stolen vehicle was later recovered in Addison, Illinois.
This morning, Bartlett Police apprehended the male white suspect. The status of the male black suspect is unknown.
Both suspects are also persons of interest in an ongoing investigation in Huntley, Illinois.
