Whether it was just an incredibly stupid prank in this age of mass shootings or something more sinister, the Aurora Police Department couldn’t have been too happy Saturday evening.
At 7:30pm, APD’s 911 Center received a call reporting a disturbance at the Chicago Premium Outlets. The caller said an offender was barricaded in a store with a victim.
APD responded, attempted to make contact, but ultimately had to force entry into the store, only to find no one inside. The report of a barricaded subject was, in APD’s words, “unfounded.”
According to the APD, the investigation into the 911 call is ongoing and, at this time, the incident is resolved and there is no public safety concern.
