A body pulled from the river Sunday in Carpentersville has been identified by the Kane County Coroner.

The body has been identified as Jesus Maldanado, the man who had been pronounced missing by the Carpentersville Police the day before.

The cause of death is still being investigated.

Last Saturday at approximately 4:45pm, the Carpentersville Police Department posted a missing person announcement on the Village of Carpentersville Public Safety Facebook page. The missing person was identified as Jesus Maldanado, a 21-year-old male, 5’5, 140 lbs with black hair and brown eyes.

On Sunday morning, at approximately 7:33 AM, the Kane County Sheriff’s Office, the Kane County Forest Preserve Police Department, the Carpentersville Police Department, and the Carpentersville Fire Department responded to the Fox River Shores Forest Preserve, 701 Williams Road for a human body in the Fox River. The body was subsequently removed from the water by CVFD personnel and CVPD Detectives responded to the scene.

The Kane County Coroner’s Office responded and transported the body to their headquarters for identification and and autopsy. Due to condition of the body, a visual identification was not possible.
