At approximately 7:30 a.m. this morning, Aurora police responded to a report of a bomb threat called into the front office at Waubonsie Valley High School.
Based on the information relayed by the caller, APD worked with district administration and determined that the safest method of investigating the threat was to keep the students in their classrooms. The school was placed into a “secure and teach” during this time.
APD officers, with assistance from the DuPage County Sheriff’s Office, conducted a thorough check of the school and deemed the school was safe to resume normal activities. During this process, the district notified WVHS parents through e-mail and telephone calls via their mass notification system.
No further information as to the issuer of the threat is available at this time.
