At 6 am this last Saturday, Stephen V. Holguin, 26, was driving in unincorporated Plato when something went very wrong.
Holguin’s 2008 Volvo S80 was traveling eastbound on Plank Road near Marshall Road and for an unknown reason left the south side of the roadway and struck the embankment. The Volvo then rolled over while Holguin, the sole occupant, was ejected from the vehicle.
He was pronounced deceased at the scene.
Sheriff’s Detectives, and members of the Kane County Drone Team are continuing the investigation into this crash. It is unknown if drugs or alcohol played a role in this crash, and no citations have been issued.
The reporting of this accident was delayed until notice to next of kin.
