    Subject Hospitalized In Elgin Shooting Incident

    A subject was hospitalized Thursday as a result of a shooting incident near the Elgin Sports Compex.

    At 11:57 a.m., Elgin police officers responded to the 1200 block of Fleetwood Drive for a reported shooting. Officers arrived on scene and located a subject with injuries who was subsequently transported to an area hospital. The subject’s condition is unknown.

    Preliminary information received is that this incident appears to be isolated with no threat to the community.

    The gunfire incident was the 12th this year. In 2021, Elgin set a new record for such incidents with 66 being recorded during the year.
