Two people are dead and three in the hospital as a result of a violent crash on Fabyan Parkway in Batavia Sunday evening.
According to police reports, at approximately 7:15pm Sunday, a 2017 Ford Mustang with two occupants was traveling westbound on West Fabyan Pkwy when it crossed into the eastbound traffic lanes, where it was struck broadside on the passenger side by a 2012 Kia Optima with three occupants. The car came to rest in the parkway on the south side of the roadway, while the Optima came to rest partially on the roadway and parkway near the Mustang.
The occupants of the Mustang, Farzin Khamis-Zadegan, 21, of Batavia, and Brian Froehlich, 18, of Elburn, were pronounced dead at the scene.
The occupants of the Optima were transported to a nearby hospital. Their identifies and conditions are unknown at this time.
According to the Batavia police, at this time in the investigation no citations have been issued, and the investigation is still open and ongoing.
