    Sixth Incident Of Shots Fired In Elgin This Year

    Elgin experienced its sixth incident of shots fired this year over the weekend.

    Last year, the city set a record for such incidents, tolling 66 to exceed the prior record of 64 set in 2016.

    On Sunday morning at approximately 11:05 a.m., officers responded to the 300 block of South Belmont for a report of shots fired. Officers confirmed that shots were fired, but provided no further information regarding injuries or property damage.
