    Bomb Threat Prompts “Large Police Presence” at Judson University In Elgin; Classes Cancelled UPDATE: “No Immediate Threat” – EPD

    UPDATE: The Elgin Police Department has issued the following statement:

    “It has been determined that there is no immediate threat to Judson University regarding explosive devices on campus. We are continuing to investigate the incident working with Judson University officials and our law enforcement partners. EPD will be maintaining a presence on campus today as we continue to investigate.”


    The Elgin Police Department has asked citizens to avoid the area of Judson University in Elgin due to a report of explosive devices on campus.

    Judson is located at 1151 N State Street in Elgin.

    In response to the threat, the university has cancelled all classes until 5pm and the campus is closed to all guests and visitors to reduce traffic.

    EPD posted the following on its Facebook page:

    There is currently a large police presence at Judson University as we are on scene investigating a report of explosive devices on campus. We are working with Judson University officials and other law enforcement partners to investigate this incident. Additional information will be given once it becomes available. Please avoid the area.

    We will update this story as new information becomes available.
