The Elgin Police Department is investigating a second gunfire incident in as many days, and the fourth this month.
On Sunday at approximately 4:18 p.m., officers responded to the 1500 block of Meyer Street for a report of shots fired.
Officers confirmed that shots fired had occurred. There were no injuries or property damage reported.
Last year, Elgin suffered the most gunfire incidents on record, 66, beating the prior record of 64 set in 2016.
