    More Gunfire In Elgin Early Saturday Morning; 51st Such Incident In 2021

    No injuries or property damage were discovered as Elgin police responded once again to a shots fired incident early Saturday morning.

    At about 2:30am, officers responded to the 300 block of South Belmont for a report of shots fired.

    Evidence of gunfire was located, but no injuries or property damage have been reported at this time.

    This is the 51st gunfire incident in Elgin this year. The record for such incidents, 64, was set in 2016.
