    Elgin Police Department Responds To Reports Of Gunfire

    No injuries were reported but evidence of property damage was found as Elgin police responded to a shots fired incident in the city’s near east side.

    At approximately 8:32 p.m., officers responded to the 600 block of Raymond Street for a report of shots fired.

    Evidence of gunfire was located, but no injuries have been reported. Only property damage has been reported at this time.

    This is the 49th gunfire incident in Elgin this year. The record for such incidents, 64, was set in 2016.
