    Identification Of Dead Body Found In The Water In Elgin Still Pending

    The Kane County Coroner has yet to identify the dead body found in the water in Elgin Saturday morning.

    According to reports, even the sex of victim cannot be determined at this point.

    Columbus Day is a holiday for public offices, so further work by the coroner will have to wait until Tuesday.

    Authorities discovered the dead body in the water Saturday morning in Elgin.

    At approximately 10:14 a.m. that morning, officers and fire department personnel responded to the intersection of Trout Park Boulevard and Sherwood Avenue for a report of a body in the water.

    A dead body was located and subsequently recovered by the fire department.

    Detectives are still actively investigating the incident. The cause of death remains indeterminate pending further examination by the coroner’s office.
