    Elgin Police Respond To 43rd Shots Fired Incident In 2021

    Elgin police responded to the area of Clock Tower Plaza in Elgin this morning following a report of shots fired.

    At approximately 2:07am, police arrived and identified evidence of a shooting.

    No injuries or property damage has been reported at this time.

    This is the 43rd reported incident of gunfire in Elgin this year. The record for reported gunfire incidents in a year is 64, which was set in 2016.
