    Elgin Police Investigate Shots Fired Incident

    Elgin police were called to the 400 block of Barrett Street Thursday evening to respond to a report of shots being fired.

    At approximately 8:44pm officers responded to a report of shots fired and, upon arrival, evidence of a shooting was located.

    No injuries or property damage has been found or reported at this time.

    This is the 42nd incident of shots fired in Elgin this year. The record for such incidents is 64, which occurred in 2016.
