A man was shot and wounded on the 800 block of Jefferson Avenue in Elgin Tuesday afternoon, according to a police press release.
On Tuesday, at approximately 4:11 p.m., Elgin Police Department officers responded to the 800 block of Jefferson Avenue for a report of shots fired. Upon arrival, an adult male victim was located with what appeared to be a non-life threatening gunshot wound.
The victim was transported to an area hospital by the Elgin Fire Department.
No other information is available at this time. This is the 39th gunshot firing incident in Elgin this year.
